We are THREE!!

Wow, I just can't believe how fast it has gone. It has been a very difficult 3 years and I think we have a year or more to go of that before we can get to the stage where they understand a lot more about feelings and treating each other nicely and consequences and sharing and more independence doing things etc.
Scotty was born first. He is our little cuddle bug. He is quick to laughter, unless you wake him up, has a wonderful imagination, and loves sports, cars, trucks, trains, planes, guns, and everything a Dad is proud of when they talk about their son. He also loves singing, dancing, and being read to. He has developed, at an early age, a talent it takes men a long time to perfect, and that is to tune EVERYTHING else out when the TV is on. He is EXCELLENT at letters and their sounds, numbers, and quoting movies and such. He has the same memory that Shelbie has basically. He has started to really like punching. "Let's fight!" Which is supposed to be pretend fighting, but he punches hard. Not good when you aren't paying attention and you get a swift punch to the stomach area. He thinks it is all in fun, but for how long, I don't know. His favorite super hero is The HULK which makes his Daddy VERY proud as it was his favorite growing up as well. (and probably still is) We couldn't be happier with him as a child. Especially now that he has the pooping in the toilet thing down....
Sydnie a.k.a. the mastermind was born 6 minutes later. Before I go on, I want to say we love Sydnie with all of our heart, so anything I say after this, know that anything that sounds negative is not really meant that way. It is almost endearing to us....almost. Anyway, she is TOO smart for her own good. She is not advanced the way Shelbie and Scotty are with numbers and letters and such, but she is more of a deep thinker. She would be the one to get Scotty and Shelbie to do the dirty work of her plan to rule the world. She does it all of the time actually. Stubborn stubborn stubborn. BUT sweet sweet sweet as well. She loves dolls, drawing, having books read to her (Scotty LOVES this as well) cuddling with Mom or Dad, climbing on things she shouldn't, doing things she shouldn't, and making life interesting for Mom and Dad. If you tell her a reason why she can't do something, she will take it in, then figure out a loophole in your explanation thereby allowing her to do what she wants. I am not joking, unfortunately. With Shelbie and Scotty it is easy to see what they want or where they are going with something. With Sydnie, we honestly have to watch our backs to make sure all of the bases are covered when she asks for something. (there is slight exaggeration there of course because she is usually just an innocent 3 year old whom we adore) We THINK she is ticklish, but so stubborn that she won't laugh. Sydnie and Scotty have mastered the courtesy laugh and it is hilarious. If you tell her how to do something once, that is all that is needed. Getting her to do it again might be painful, but she knows how to do it. We LOVE her to pieces. She has taken on the facial expressions of Shelbie, Mom, and Dad and uses them all of the time. It is pretty dang funny to say the least.
