This was really fun to make! The kids love the Horton Hears a Who movie and I found this cake online and totally copied it. Not the best job at frosting but I am not aspiring to be a cake decorator so this is good enough for me.
they destroyed one of the ears before we could get them seated
singing and blowing out candles...3 each :-) We sang the song twice right in a row and then they both blew out the candles at the same time. 
The ears were frosted poster board
The sculpted cake before frosting. (it was a confetti cake) I used two 9x13 cakes and one baked in a class bowl.
